Hewitt game never hotter

History making Lleyton Hewitt yesterday accelerated a relentless march towards the Australian Open with a supreme AAPT Championships victory over defending champion Thomas Enqvist at Memorial Drive.
Determined to peak at Melbourne Park next week, 18-year-old Hewitt declared pre-tournament his prime objective was to groove his polished game for the Australian Open.
By eclipsing world no. 5 Enqvist in teh blazing heat, Hewitt proved he is a serious threat.
"I feel like I'm hitting the ball well enough to do some damage over the next couple of weeks," Hewitt said.
"I've got no doubt this is the biggest win I've had in Adelaide. It gives me a lot of confidence going into the next couple of weeks. It's an unbelievable feeling."
